Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY We are requesting an administrative supplement to ensure that we can successfully complete the Aims of our funded project 5R01NS105697. The objective of the project is to close knowledge gaps about structure-function relationships in primary motor cortex of monkeys. At the conclusion of the project we expect to gain a better understanding of how the brain controls voluntary movements of the body. Two unanticipated factors led to financial challenges from the outset of the project. Our re-budgeting strategies allowed us to succeed in Years 1-3, but additional funds are now essential for successful completion of the project. The funds requested will support animal costs and research supplies. These items are indispensable for meeting the original objectives of the project.
