Abstract

Project Summary/Abstract This administrative supplement is to allow for the acquisition of a mobile research lab to assist with in-person ECHO recruitment and data collection, particularly in rural areas and with hard-to- reach populations. In the fall 2020, in response to the challenges of COVID-19, we removed our ECHO catchment requirements around Sioux Falls and Rapid City, SD (location of research offices), and expanded recruitment throughout the region to better capture rural participants. This approach has been tremendously successful with increasing engagement of rural/frontier participants, with approximately 50% of our ECHO participants now living in rural areas. The mobile research lab will be used to enroll and collect data from those participants with limited access to on-line data collection tools. In addition, the mobile research lab would allow us to collect study elements difficult to collect in a remote environment, including certain biospecimens, cognitive assessments, anthropometrics, blood pressure, and others.
