The RCMI Coordinating Center (RCMI-CC) is uniquely positioned to enhance data science capacity and foster collaborations throughout the RCMI Consortium. The RCMI- CC serves as the central coordination hub for RCMI U54 centers and engages PI/PDs and Core Directors for research infrastructure, investigator development, and community engagement to spur cross-institutional mentoring and investigator development, inter- institutional collaborations, partnerships and resource sharing. This supplement seeks to build on our experience developing and implementing a coordinated RCMI Data Science Initiative to upskill RCMI investigators in data science, including tools, methods, and best practices with a focus on reproducible data analysis and effective knowledge mobilization around health disparities and incentivizing collaborations at the nexus of data science and health disparities between investigators within and outside of the RCMI consortium. Our specific aims are: (1) To enhance our Technical Introduction to Data Science and Health Disparities curriculum by (i) co-creating a Python track introducing data science principles and techniques with an emphasis on health disparity research and (ii) integrating additional NIH-funded resources and datasets, including the National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C), (2) To enhance the sustainability of our Data Science and Health Disparities training program by developing an evidence- based virtual collaboratory to support synchronous and asynchronous peer, coach, and domain expert interactions to develop collaborative research projects across U54 centers as well as between U54 and non-RCMI institutions, (3) To scale access to Data Science and Health Disparities curriculum and training program by recording workshops and producing a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for asynchronous, on-demand learning.
