# Clinical and Translational Science Award

> **NIH NIH UL1** · MEDICAL COLLEGE OF WISCONSIN · 2022 · $87,330

## Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT
In CTSA 3.0, supported by the parent award (5UL1TR001436-08) for this supplemental application, we have
continued to pursue the transformation of clinical and translational research in southeastern Wisconsin. This
includes the refinement of proficient and innovative infrastructure to support CT research and science, while
removing impediments to the performance of high impact research. A major emphasis of our current award is
on team science including the development of integrated clinical and research ensembles (ICREs) in which
patients, clinical investigators, translational researchers, health system representatives, community members,
and others are brought “All in Together” to translate problems identified by these individuals into testable
hypotheses, novel processes, or methods that can lead to clinical/translational science studies/trials and
solutions to improve patient and community health. This Administrative Supplement will support the creation of
a Perioperative ICRE focused on improving surgical care for patients with a history of COVID-19, including
Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2, using precision medicine techniques through leveraging both the All of
Us Research Hub and National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C) Data Enclave. Part of our CTSA Hub’s
activities include data efforts to support each of these programs and this supplement will provide an
opportunity to conduct an in-scope project to answer an important question related to the COVID-19 pandemic,
including the long-term sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection, as described in this proposal over a 12-month
period.
