## Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY
The funding requested in this supplement application will provide the ability to rebuild the applications and
websites that support the Nonhuman Primate Research Consortium with updated technologies and enhanced
administrative functions. The existing NPRC applications were developed over 15 years ago on now outdated
technologies limiting the ability to enhance existing functionality and requiring a large amount of administrative
overhead. The proposed improvements will allow for the standardization of administration functions such as the
addition of users and user permissions and streamlined website management including the creation, editing and
deletion of new pages, news items, menus, journal articles, research citations, and publications. Automation will
be implemented wherever possible for gathering and publishing news. The applications and sites will have an
improved look and feel. These upgrades will also reduce the daily manual processes needed to maintain system
updates and monitor system availability. Additionally, the completion of this project will allow a migration of these
systems away from an existing third-party vendor onto a more stable infrastructure, reducing hosting fees and
allowing Tulane to build and maintain the environment at the same standards as other Tulane systems (i.e.,
monitoring, system patching, security scans, etc.) Finally, this funding will allow for the creation of an image
curation system for pathology images in order to expand the library in the existing Primate Pathology Image
Database.
These overall efforts will ensure the nonhuman primate research community will have applications available on
a consistent basis to support the mission of the NPRC Consortium and allow for Tulane to respond to and resolve
issues in a timelier manner.
