Abstract

The purpose of this task order is to obtain services to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a multiyear, multipronged engagement and outreach program, which encompasses best-practice approaches for outreach in general and minority outreach, in particular, as well as consistently informing members of small audiences who suffer from a rare disease. Thus, the program shall be “audience-centric,” focusing on reaching the specific population of individuals affected with blood diseases and disorders – beginning with those with sickle cell disease and their families – at the community level, as well as through partners that reach the target audience via national-, regional-, and broad scale community-level networks and activities. Program activities to inform or educate a community and research information dissemination efforts aimed at people with other blood diseases and disorders or those concerned with issues of blood safety will be developed under this task order as the needs arise.
