## Abstract

ABSTRACT
Support is requested for a Keystone Symposia conference entitled Inhibitory Receptors in Immune
Homeostasis, Disease and Therapy, organized by Drs. Linde Meyaard, Jonathon Sedgwick, Carla Rothlin and
Alex McCarthy. The conference will be held in Breckenridge, Colorado from January 16-19, 2024.
While the field of inhibitory immune receptors has been growing steadily over the past 20 years, interest has
accelerated tremendously since the application of blocking antibodies for these receptors as cancer
immunotherapies. Inhibitory immune receptors as a general class of molecules comprise hundreds of
receptors across both innate and adaptive immunity. The increasing understanding of their relevance across
broad facets of biology stimulates early attempts to harness them as therapeutic targets. Deeper insights into
the mechanisms, characteristics and applications of these receptors will continue to accumulate rapidly,
especially as these begin to be leveraged therapeutically outside the checkpoint receptors targeted in cancer.
This Keystone Symposia conference brings together scientists and physicians working on different aspects of
their biology across a range of disciplines in academia and industry. The conference program reflects just how
deeply this area penetrates into many areas of diverse biology and medicine and garners interest at a global
level.
