Abstract

ADMINISTRATION CORE SUMMARY The Administration Core for our AADCRC application will provide the Program with the management, coordination and supervision required for successful completion of the Program at the highest level. The inclusion of two projects and one scientific core with extensive interactions requires a strong administrative core to ensure the goals of the Program are realized. The Core is led by the contact PI, Carole Ober, PhD, who is responsible for fiscal and administrative management including maintaining communication among Co-PIs, co-investigators and key personnel. The Core will facilitate communication, ensure proper handling of budgets, and ensure publication of our findings in appropriate journals. Our AADCRC will maintain a robust communications model. Bi-weekly meetings between the investigators and their teams will be oriented both to logistical and administrative details and to science. The latter includes presentations of new data, trouble-shooting of any problems encountered, and long-range planning for our AADCRC program. These meetings will be attended by junior investigators and our research teams. We will have one retreat each year with our research teams and our Internal Advisory Board, and a seminar series that will include outside speakers. Members of our AADCRC team, including the PIs, will attend the annual AADCRC Steering Committee meetings in Bethesda, during which time they will share in the presentation of new data and explore opportunities for collaboration with the other AADCRC teams.
