Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY / ABSTRACT The Nonhuman Primate Testing Center for Evaluation of Somatic Cell Genome Editing Tools supports studies with nonhuman primates that will advance the genome editing field, and significantly contributes to the future translation of these technologies for the treatment of human disease. The Nonhuman Primate Testing Center includes a robust team and partnerships that capitalize on major strengths including the California National Primate Research Center, Genome Center, and Clinical and Translational Science Center. The Nonhuman Primate Testing Center offers state-of-the-art capabilities for Somatic Cell Genome Editing (SCGE) investigators to conduct high quality research in nonhuman primates. The Testing Center leverages a supportive framework that has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to providing research opportunities and collaborations to investigators nationwide. Through this powerful infrastructure the Testing Center fosters partnerships with SCGE awardees through provision of expertise, resources, and collaborative opportunities that accelerate their research, and ensures synergism across the SCGE Consortium and with ongoing interactions with the Dissemination and Coordinating Center. This supplement supports a key collaborative project that will result in new opportunities with broad applications for the gene therapy and somatic cell genome editing fields, and will be conducted utilizing all of the capabilities of the Nonhuman Primate Testing Center for Evaluation of Somatic Cell Genome Editing Tools.
