## Abstract

COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH RESOURCES CORE PROJECT SUMMARY
The Maine INBRE (ME-INBRE) Collaborative Research Resources Core (CRRC) is a new Research Core that
will work to maximize accessibility and use of IDeA-supported core facility resources and increase collaboration
between biomedical researchers across the ME-INBRE network. This will be accomplished by providing a
cutting-edge open-access light microscopy facility and other core resources for ME-INBRE researchers, as well
as Core Facility Access Awards that facilitate the use of IDeA-supported core facilities. The CRRC will also
manage an Instrument Exchange Program (IEP), through which surplus equipment is shared between INBRE
institutions. To promote collaboration and resource-sharing among Maine biomedical researchers and
institutions, the CRRC will build and curate a web-accessible database with up-to-date information on all
biomedical researchers in the state, including project leaders supported by the five Maine COBREs, the CTR,
and ME-INBRE, as well as researchers with independent research (R01 or the equivalent) funding. The CRRC
will work to build networking tools that facilitate communication with and collaboration among these researchers
into the Maine INBRE website. To advertise and enhance use of these core resources, the CRRC Director, in
collaboration with the INBRE PD/PI, DRPP Director, and Data Science Core, will visit and work with researchers
across the state to generate network engagement and build focus groups defined by research interests.
