Abstract

ABSTRACT University of South Florida The USF Adolescent HIV Consortium will collaborate with the Adolescent Trials Network (ATN) Operations and Collaborations Center (OCC) by engaging, enrolling, and retaining adolescents and young adults, both at risk of and living with HIV, in care and research through a well-established clinical and research infrastructure. This highly reliable, inclusive consortium structure serves southwest Florida and includes community-based programs, youth representatives, local health departments, health systems and academic institutions. The consortium will utilize proven strategies and innovative programs to respond to the needs of youth and the community. Through engagement at the site and individual collaborator level with the ATN Scientific Leadership Group, the consortium will implement and investigate new research strategies that will result in improved prevention and treatment of HIV infection and address pressing issues of youth living with HIV. We will leverage our experience, mature partnerships, and diverse patient population to address priority areas of the ATN agenda and serve as a model for community empowerment and participation.
