Abstract

Project Summary/Abstract, Data Management and Distribution Core (Core B) The proposed program project aims to close research gaps in antiretroviral treatment for pregnant women and infants living with HIV with four inter-related projects that will require data management and data sharing. The Data Management and Distribution Core will build on its long experience managing clinical and laboratory data at the Botswana-Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership to ensure successful support for all data aspects of this program. Three projects (Projects 1, 3, and 4) will require database creation, maintenance, and support for data collection and management. The Tsepamo Plus birth outcomes surveillance study (Project 1) will provide data for the Methodology Project (Project 2) and for Point-of-Care HIV Testing and Infant Treatment (Project 3). Project 3 will provide data for the Immune Control Study (Project 4). Projects 3 and 4 require systems for receiving and storing laboratory data from the Botswana-Harvard HIV Reference Laboratory. The Data Core will oversee an active and efficient system of cross-talk between projects to facilitate achievement of the P01 program goals internally. In addition, the Data Core will be responsible for routine and external data distribution, and for data dissemination.
