Abstract

ABSTRACT, Genomics Core (GC) Next-generation sequencing, single-cell, and spatial imaging technologies have revolutionized the field of functional genomics by allowing scientists to analyze the genomic makeup of an organism at a much more detailed level than was previously possible. These technologies have helped scientists identify genetic risk factors for complex diseases such as cancer, provide insight into the underlying molecular mechanisms that contribute to their development, transform the way that we approach cancer prevention and treatment, and move towards more personalized and targeted therapies. The Genomics Core (GC) provides state-of-the-art genomics services to investigators at Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center (IUSCCC), including next- generation sequencing, single-cell analytics, and spatial omics. This Shared Resource has a long history of supporting cancer research and receives significant funding from IUSM and IUSCCC. It also has strong ties with the IUSM Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics and the IUSCCC Cancer Bioinformatics Core. By leveraging these resources, the GC aims to provide IUSCCC members with high-quality genomics services at an affordable cost and with quick turnaround times. In the proposed grant period, the GC will continue to promote cancer research by providing state-of-the-art genomics services, evaluating and implementing cutting- edge genomics technologies, facilitating the development of novel experimental methods, and developing and sponsoring training activities on genomics technologies, experimental assays, and analysis methods. To provide more seamless service to IUSCCC investigators, the GC will also broaden collaborations with other IUSCCC Shared Resources, such as the Cancer Bioinformatics Core, Proteomics Core, and Flow Cytometry Core.
