SUMMARY – hIPSC-REPROGRAMMING AND CELL CULTURE MODULE
The hIPSC-Reprogramming and Cell Culture module (IPSC-CC) is a specialized research unit dedicated to
advancing both fundamental and translational vision research. This module is led by Drs. Chen and da Silva
and aims to achieve three main goals. First, the module uses cutting-edge screening tools to assist
researchers in the discovery of novel treatments and critical targets for improving eye health and
development. Unbiased screening process is a fast and robust way for uncovering groundbreaking
advancements in eye care. Second, the module offers expertise in human induced pluripotent stem cells
(hIPSC) and retinal organoids. the module directors possess specialized knowledge in hIPSC
reprogramming and differentiation of 3D retinal organoids, a leading biological tool revolutionizing the
regenerative medicine field. These cells can be sourced from patients with eye diseases, offering new
