Abstract

The Early Onset Malignancies Initiative’s (EOMI) Clinical Data Center (CDC) provides support for Human Subject Compliance, Clinical Data Procurement, Clinical Data Validation, Informatics and Data Distribution and support services for EOMI. The EOMI is the only tissue procurement protocol within the NCI that focuses on early onset malignancies of breast, colon, kidney, liver, multiple myeloma and prostate in non-Hispanic Black, Hispanic, American Indian or Alaska Native. Prospective biospecimens from diverse populations are not adequately represented in the TCGA database to study differences in onset of cancer compared to non-Hispanic Whites. EOMI fills a gap in the lack of genomic data from underrepresented populations.
