Abstract

Building 1073 is a repository for the Natural Products Group and Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD). It houses approximately thirty-three LN2 Freezers as well as walk in freezers, administrative and lab space. Building conditioning issues resulted in the formation of mold throughout the space. This project will update the HVAC system for Building 1073 and remediate the entire building. The administrative and lab portion of Building 1073 will be demolished as the first phase of the project. This area will have a temporary LN2 piping system installed along with the other required mechanical and electrical upgrades. The existing LN2 freezers in Building 1073 will be relocated to that area of the building prior to construction commencing in the remainder of Building 1073. Upon completion of the construction throughout the remainder of the building, the freezers will be relocated back to the repository warehouse portion of the building and the administrative and lab area construction will be completed.
