Abstract

1.- Modified Project Summary/Abstract Section Title: Improving Officer and Civilian Health through Macro-level Changes in North Texas As a profession, law enforcement produces unique occupational health outcomes for officers and civilians. To date, most studies have focused on improving health outcomes related to law enforcement from a microlevel perspective, with particular attention to individual and behavioral factors. Such a focus misses the broader macro-level factors that perpetuate occupational harms. To address this gap, this study uses the PRECEDE-PROCEED model of intervention development to examine modifiable macro-level factors contributing to adverse occupational health outcomes for law enforcement and civilians. Using a mixed-method design and partnering with local law enforcement agencies, we will implement and test an intervention to reduce occupational health harms related to law enforcement.
