Abstract

SEER*Educate is an online cancer registrar training resource with 3,700 active users annually, including 23 college programs using SEER*Educate material as part of their curriculum, numerous National Cancer Registrar Association (NCRA) mentorships, six major contract cancer registry abstracting service companies, 37 central cancer registries, and 70 hospital cancer registries. The user base for SEER*Educate includes all SEER registries (mandated use by the CORE task award), National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR), hospital registrars in Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) and non-SEER areas, contract agencies (a growing user base), colleges, mentors, and students. SEER*Educate recently celebrated the milestone of 2.5 million tests/cases completed. No other training platform currently provides access to the volume of coding exercises available in SEER*Educate. The current contract supports maintenance of existing functionality, updating of existing training content in response to updated data collection needs, and creation of new training material.
