# THE NIH NATIONAL NEUROHIV TISSUE CONSORTIUM (NNTC) - NEW CLINICAL SITE

## Abstract

The purpose of this contract is to establish a new National NeuroHIV Tissue Consortium (NNTC) Clinical site as a critical resource for catalyzing high priority research in NeuroHIV (CNS complications in people with HIV), including studies to understand the mechanisms of HIV neuropathogenesis, aging with long-term HIV and ART, and research towards an HIV cure. The NNTC clinical site shall collect, store, and provide clinical data and well characterized biological specimens, including antemortem/ postmortem tissue from study volunteers and/or organ donors with HIV as well as HIV-negative controls. The establishment of a new NNTC clinical site is necessary to ensure geographic diversity in the southern and
midwestern United States that are actively being sought.
