## Abstract

SUMMARY
A 600 MHz NMR spectrometer upgrade for the Sanford Burnham Prebys Cancer Center. We propose to
acquire a modern 600 MHz solution NMR spectrometer upgrade to enable biomolecular structural studies of a
range of proteins associated with human diseases, including cancer, bacterial infection, and diabetes. The
spectrometer will be integrated in the NMR Shared Resource of the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical
Discovery Institute (SBP) Cancer Center. The mission of the Shared Resource is to provide NMR technology
and expertise for advancing our understanding of the molecular basis of human disease. NMR spectroscopy
plays a central role in modern structural biology and drug discovery and is essential for advancing research
projects at the SBP Cancer Center. The upgraded spectrometer will support a range of disease-related NIH-
funded projects with translational potential. The expectation is that the spectrometer will accelerate the
translation of basic science discoveries and the identification of therapeutic leads.
