Abstract
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of a mixture of hydroxymethyl-5,5-dimethylhydantoin and 1,3-bis(hydroxymethyl)-5,5- dimethylhydantoin as a preservative in clay-type fillers for paper and paperboard intended for use in contact with aqueous and fatty food. This action is in response to a petition filed by Lonza, Inc.
