## Abstract

In the August 7, 2001 issue of the Federal Register (66 FR 41316), we published a final rule establishing a prospective payment system (PPS) for Medicare payment of inpatient hospital services provided by a rehabilitation hospital or rehabilitation unit of a hospital. The effective date was January 1, 2002. This correcting amendment corrects a limited number of technical and typographical errors identified in the August 7, 2001 final rule. It also corrects an example related to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument contained within the final rule.
