Abstract

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of 4-chloro-2-[[5- hydroxy-3-methyl-1-(3-sulfophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]azo]-5- methylbenzenesulfonic acid, calcium salt (1:1) (C. I. Pigment Yellow 191) as a colorant for all polymers intended for use in contact with food. This action is in response to a petition filed by Hoechst Celanese Corp.
