## Abstract

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of diethanolamine as a boiler water additive in paper mill boilers used in the manufacture of paper and paperboard intended for use in contact with aqueous and fatty food. This action is in response to a food additive petition filed by Betz Laboratories, Inc.
