## Abstract

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of dimethyl dicarbonate (DMDC) as a yeast inhibitor in sports drinks and fruit or juice sparklers. This action is in response to a petition filed by Miles, Inc. (now Bayer Corp.).
