Abstract

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of sucrose esterified with medium and long chain fatty acids (olestra) as a replacement for fats and oils. This action is in response to a petition filed by the Procter & Gamble Co.
