## Abstract

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of polyaryletherketone resins (i.e., poly(oxy-1,4-phenylenecarbonyl-1,4-phenyleneoxy-1,4- phenylenecarbonyl-1,4-phenylenecarbonyl-1,4-phenylene) as a basic resin for use in food-contact materials. This action is in response to a petition filed by BASF Aktiengesellschaft.
