Abstract
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is amending the regulations governing Public Health Service (PHS) grants for research projects to: accommodate changes necessitated by enactment of various statutes governing research project grant programs administered by the PHS; updated references to statutes and regulations; and cover all research project grant programs administered by the PHS, except for grants for health services research, demonstration, and evaluation projects administered by the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR), so the regulations will not have to be amended each time a new research project grant program is established by statute or administrative action.
