Abstract

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of 3,6-bis(4- chlorophenyl)-2,5-dihydro-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione (C.I. Pigment Red 254) as a colorant in polymers intended for use in contact with food. This action is in response to a petition filed by Ciba-Geigy Corp.
