## Abstract

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending its regulations to define the conditions under which certain petitions for nutrient content and health claims shall be deemed to be denied and to codify the statutory timeframe within which the agency will complete rulemakings on such petitions. FDA is taking this action in response to the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act of 1997 (FDAMA).
