## Abstract

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of 2,2'-(2,5- thiophenediyl)-bis(5-tert-butylbenzoxazole) as an optical brightener in pressure-sensitive adhesives and in all polymers used in contact with food. This action is in response to a petition filed by Ciba-Geigy Corp.
