Abstract

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of benzenesulfonic acid, 4-chloro-5-methyl-2-[[4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1-(3- sulfophenyl)-1H-pyrazo-4-yl]azo], ammonium salt (C.I. Pigment Yellow 191:1) as a colorant in polymers intended for use in contact with food. This action is in response to a petition filed by Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corp.
