Abstract
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of X-radiation, produced by operation of X-ray tubes at energy levels of 500 kilovolt peak or lower, to inspect food. This action is in response to a petition filed by American Science and Engineering, Inc.
