Abstract
The Federal Trade Commission (Commission) announces that it is revising Secs. 23.13 and 23.22 of the Guides for the Jewelry, Precious Metals and Pewter Industries (Jewelry Guides or Guides), 16 CFR Part 23. The Commission has combined Sec. 23.13, which addresses the disclosure of diamond treatments, with Sec. 23.22, which addresses treatments of other gemstones. The Commission also has revised these sections to provide for disclosure of any treatment to gemstones that significantly affects the value of the gemstone, which would include laser-drilling of diamonds.
