## Abstract

The Federal Trade Commission (``Commission'' or ``FTC'') announces the repeal of the Trade Regulation Rule Concerning the Incandescent Lamp (Light Bulb) Industry (``Light Bulb Rule'' or ``Rule''). The Commission has reviewed the rulemaking record and determined that, because of more comprehensive lamp labeling rules that the Commission promulgated in 1994 under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, as amended by the Energy Policy Act of 1992, and current industry light bulb marking practices, the Light Bulb Rule is no longer necessary or in the public interest. This notice contains a Statement of Basis and Purpose for repealing the Light Bulb Rule.
