## Abstract

This provides notice of the Federal Subsistence Board's in- season management actions to protect sockeye salmon escapement in Afognak Lake and in the Copper River, while still providing for a subsistence harvest opportunity. It also suspends the coho harvest regulations for three rivers in Southeastern Alaska where there are legal uncertainties and a possible conflict with an international treaty. The fishing schedules and closures will provide an exception to the Subsistence Management Regulations for Public Lands in Alaska, published in the Federal Register on February 7, 2002. Those regulations established seasons, harvest limits, methods, and means relating to the taking of fish and shellfish for subsistence uses during the 2002 regulatory year.
