## Abstract

OSM is approving a proposed amendment to the Oklahoma abandoned mine land reclamation plan (hereinafter referred to as the ``Oklahoma plan'') under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). Oklahoma proposed revisions and additions to its rules and to sections of the Oklahoma plan pertaining to definitions, contractor responsibility, eligible lands and waters, reclamation project objectives and priorities, project ranking, public participation, organizational structure, and coordination of reclamation with other agencies. The amendment is intended to revise the Oklahoma plan to be consistent with the corresponding Federal regulations and SMCRA, to incorporate the additional flexibility afforded by the revised Federal regulations, and to improve operational efficiency.
