## Abstract

OSM is approving a proposed amendment to the Illinois regulatory program (hereinafter referred to as the ``Illinois program'') under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). Illinois proposed to revise four sections and to add one section to Title 62 of the Illinois Administrative Code (IAC) regulations pertaining to self-bonding. The amendment is intended to revise the Illinois program to be consistent with the corresponding Federal regulations.
