## Abstract

OSM is approving a proposed amendment to the Indiana regulatory program (hereinafter referred to as the ``Indiana program'') under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). Indiana proposed revisions and additions to its rules pertaining to repair or compensation for material damage resulting from subsidence caused by underground coal mining operations and to replacement of water supplies adversely impacted by coal mining operations. The amendment is intended to revise the Indiana program to be consistent with the corresponding Federal regulations.
