## Abstract

OSM is approving a proposed amendment to the Indiana regulatory program (hereinafter referred to as the ``Indiana program'') under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). Indiana proposed revisions to its rules pertaining to an exemption for coal extraction incidental to the extraction of other minerals. The amendment is intended to revise the Indiana program to be consistent with the corresponding Federal regulations.
