## Abstract

OSM is approving with certain exceptions a proposed amendment to the Indiana regulatory program (hereinafter referred to as the ``Indiana program'') under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). Indiana proposed revisions to the Indiana Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation Act (ISMCRA) as enacted by the Indiana General Assembly (1995) in Senator Enrolled Act 125 (SEA 125). The proposed amendment, concerning the submittal of affected area status reports and performance bonding, is intended to revise the Indiana program to be consistent with SMCRA and incorporate State initiatives.
