Abstract

The Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) determines Cordia bellonis (no common name) to be endangered pursuant to the Endangered Species Act (Act) of 1973, as amended. This species is a shrub endemic to the island of Puerto Rico and it is restricted to three public forests--Maricao, Susua, and Rio Abajo. The species is threatened by habitat loss, some forest management practices, and restricted distribution. This final rule will implement the Federal protection and recovery provisions afforded by the Act for Cordia bellonis.
