## Abstract

OSM is approving a proposed amendment to the Maryland regulatory program (hereinafter referred to as the ``Maryland program'') under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). Maryland proposed revisions and additions to its statutes pertaining to permit revocation, reinstatement, and reissuance. The amendment is intended to revise the Maryland program to be consistent with the corresponding Federal regulations and SMCRA.
