## Abstract

OSM is approving a proposed amendment to the Maryland regulatory program (hereinafter referred to as the ``Maryland program'') under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). Maryland proposed revisions to the Maryland regulations regarding a reduced bond liability period for lands remined. The amendments are intended to revise the Maryland program to be consistent with the corresponding Federal regulations and SMCRA.
