## Abstract

OSM is approving an amendment to the Indiana regulatory program (hereinafter referred to as the ``Indiana program'') under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). Indiana proposed revisions to regulations pertaining to the definition of ``affected area,'' submittal of underground mining operation plans, and the standards for prime farmland restoration by surface and underground coal mining operations. The amendment is intended to revise the Indiana program to be consistent with the corresponding Federal regulations.
