Abstract

We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), determine endangered status under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (Act), for Fritillaria gentneri (Gentner's fritillary) ( = Mission- bells). This plant is found only in two counties, Jackson and Josephine, in southwestern Oregon. This taxon is threatened by residential development, agricultural activities, logging, road and trail improvement, off-road vehicle use, collection for gardens, and problems associated with small population size. This rule implements the Federal protection and recovery provisions afforded by the Act for Fritillaria gentneri.
