## Abstract

The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM) is approving a proposed amendment to the North Dakota regulatory program (hereinafter, the ``North Dakota program'') under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). North Dakota proposed revisions of its revegetation document pertaining to prime farmland success standards, cover standards for woodlands, wetlands success standards, recreational land use success standards for tree and shrub stocking, and methods for sampling woodland cover. The amendment was intended to revise the North Dakota program to be consistent with the corresponding Federal regulations and improve operational efficiency.
