Narrative

EMPLOYEE WAS USING A PRY BAR TO BREAK LOOSE THE LIME WHICH HAD PLUGGED THE SEAL BLADE CHUTE AT THE DISCHARGE END OF #4 KILN. SUDDENLY, THE LIME BROKE LOOSE AND BLEW INTO HIS FACE; HE WAS IN A BENT-OVER POSITION WITH HIS HEAD AT AN ANGLE WHEN THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. LIME DUST BLEW INTO HIS EYE FROM THE SIDE. HE WAS GIVEN 3 PRESCRIPTIONS AND RETURNED TO RESTRICTED DUTY 8/7/00.
