Narrative

MINE 58 WAS SHUT DOWN IN 1988. SHAFTS HAVE BEEN FILLED AND THE MINE IS FLOODED. THE PREPARATION PKLANT AND RAW COAL SILO REMAIN STANDING IDLE. THE 7000 TONE RAW COAL SILO HAS STARTED TO EMIT S MOKE, INDICATING A SMALL FIR INSIDE IT. WE BELIEVE THE SILO IS NEARLY EMPTY, BUT SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION STARTED FIR IN REMAINING COAL. NO EES AT THE MINE, AND NO ONE INJURED.
