Narrative

PRIOR TO INJURED INSTALLING THE NEW GASKET, A CONTRACTOR WELDER BEGAN WORKING ON A HEAD BOLT ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ENGINE. WHEN THE WELDERSTRUCK AN ARC, VAPORS FROM THE SOLVENT IGNITED AND FLASHED BACK. THE FLASH CAUSED BURNS TO HIS FACE, NECK, AND WRISTS.
